    Hi,

My name is Meron, I am president of Ethiopian Students Association at the Maryland University of College Park. We are trying to advertise our cultural show, we will be raising money to provide books for the School of Pharmacy in Addis Ababa University. Mike Endale from ESAi and Blen Graphix suggested that I contact browncondor in hopes to further promote our show. We are trying to get the greater DMV area to come out. I receive email from brown condor once in a while, and I was hoping that I can somehow advertise either on your site or through your list-serve (or both). Please let me know if this is possible. The show is on Sunday, April 18th from 5pm-8pm. Tickets are $10 for UMD students, $15 for non-UMD students and $20 for Non-students, ticket prices will increase at the door. All other info concerning the show is on our flier. If you are willing to help us promote our show I can send a flier as an attachment for you.

    Thank you,

    Meron Mimi

JUST WHEN THE STORM’S RAGE WAS AT ITS WORST
AND BLACK CLOUDS SURROUNDED MY EARTH
    A LIGHT APPEARS
SO BRIGHT IT SURFACES OUT OF THE DARK LIKE A STRAY CAR
EMMERGING ONTO A CURVE ON A LONELY ROAD AT NIGHT
THUNDER PLOWS ALL AROUND MY WORLD
AND CURLS MY SOUND INTO A REVELATION OF MEAR MORTALITY
HUMBLED BY ITS STRENGTH I NOW KNOW
THERE ARE FORCES GREATER THEN MY OWN
I TRAVEL IN THE ABISS OF THE UNKNOWN
LOST LIKE A CHILD AWAY FROM HOME
EVERY STOP FURTHER THEN THE LAST
EVERY MINUTE LONGER THEN THE NEXT
    YET I MAKE MY WAY
EVERY STOP, STRONGER THEN THE LAST
EVERY MINUTE, WISER THEN THE NEXT
EVERY OBSTACLE THROWN AT MY PATH
HURDLED AT FULL SPEED WITH NEW FOUND STRENGTH FROM THE LAST
    THE WORLD IS COLD
BUT THE MORE I ENDURE THE WRATH OF ITS CLIMATE
THE MORE I IMMUNE TO ITS UNFORGIVING MALICE
    MY SKIN IS TOUGH
    MY MIND IS CLEAR
    MY EYES ARE WIDE
    MY HEART IS STEEL
    MY MOVEMENT, FAST
    MY ACTIONS, LOUD
    MY LIFE IS MINE
    MY FEELINGS,
    PROUD

I read and interesting article about an Ethiopian Orthodox Priest in D.C. and his behavior which seems contraty to the behavior I observed by priests throughout Ethiopia. Perhaps he is setting himself up to become the next “patriarch” of the church.

More disturbing was the suggestion of his having an artifact of significant cutural importance to both the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, and the Ethiopian people themselves. Would this man take the cross of Lalibala, and claim it for himself.?Is this the example of behavior we should expect from a priest? Have my Ethiopian Aunts and Uncles become “weak of spirit” and fearful to state and demand what is right?

For his supporters who make false claims aginst others, and to he himself. You are beening seen both here and from above, and will be judged, and held accountable for your actions.

I would have liked to post this as a blog…but no such luck
